riverside poetry

riverside poetry 2007This is the poem I mentioned on Monday...

I'm glad to say that it's still there... the council haven't come along with their street cleaner buggies and washed it away as yet... but they will, so I'm kind of glad I can save it, theoretically forever, here on the blog.

It's a little hard to read in spots (especially because I had to tilt the image to get it all in)... but it reads...

A river of black tar
reflects your face
from the memory
of you in this place.
I don't want it
back but I miss
your embrace,
let me reclaim
this space,
my love,
my grace.
Not a happy little poem, but still beautiful... so thank you Chalk Person, whoever you are!
