'S too hot... 's too hot to think, 's too hot to write anything, 's just too hot...
It's reached the point where all my evaporative cooler does is move hot air around... the PC is wheezing somewhat asthmatically... it's just generally not pleasant. And doubly worse because the heat doesn't drop more than about 10 degrees overnight, which is just ick (although last night wasn't THAT bad... but tonight looks like it's going to be godawful.
Thank all my proverbial stars that I'm working this week, so there is at least some respite from the heat... although the weather isn't supposed to drop to something reasonable in the foreseeable future... next week is supposed to be in the high 30's, so that could be a problem...
Going away now...

I'm so pleased we've got a bit of an ocean breeze to cool us down here. It's back to high 20's here which is perfect thanks very much. Good luck for the high 30's. The best policy is to sit in a cold bath for most of the day and read a book. :)
I heard somewhere along the line that you guys struck 46 degrees yesterday, is that for real? We hit 41 yesterday and 43 today but it should drop back to 35-ish later in the week, thank christ. All I want is a night below 30 so I can get a decent nights sleep. Last night didn't feature the kind of hot sweaty action I had in mind!
I feel for those of you in enduring the current heatwave in Adelaide and Melbourne.
As Tom said, we in the coastal parts of Sydney have the benefit of sea/harbour breezes keeping temps to the high 20s but even that was bad enough during two train trips I took today.
Mr Mutant... actually it only got to 45.7... but what's .3 of a degree between friends... worse still was the overnight temperature... 33.9... the hottest night in Adelaide ON RECORD (the previous one being in 1982 when it was 33.5).
When I left work today it was 42.4, but we only got the the maximum of 43 an hour later at 5pm... right now it's about 42...
I so desperately wanted to make love to the frozen food section in the supermarket earlier...
And Victor, at least your trains are running, ours keep having to stop because the tracks are buckling in the heat...
