This blast from the past (2002 to be exact) was inspired by The Other Andrew's recent spate of magnolia shots, particularly the one with the blue, blue, blue sky...Something about this shot is just a whole world of southern belles, mint juleps, and sitting on the porch sayin' "I declare" a lot... (yeah, I know, my idea of Southern living is all screwed up, coming, as it does, mainly from Blanche on the Golden Girls)...
I go past the same tree on my walk every morning now, but since I noticed that it's in flower again there actually hasn't been a sunny morning, so I just haven't felt inspired to take my camera out with me.
Hopefully the weather will improve next week, so I can try and capture the flowers before they vanish.
