coffee with marc: round two

coffee and skylineWell I have to say that this time around Coffee with Marc was slightly easier than it was last time...

Maybe it's because we'd already been there and done all that, and I think I know what I do and don't want this time around... and I honestly didn't go into this with any sort of agenda, or any kind of thought process... in fact it was all pretty much Marc's idea... from the fact that he wanted to text me and arrange something, to picking the time and the place near the Central Markets, even down to the place we ended up having coffee...

And I know it's an awful thing to say, but he always looks so much better at the sauna... both from an "out of clothes" perspective, but also the whole "wet hair" thing is his friend. He's a sweet enough guy, but damn he could do with a makeover...

It was also interesting that he did almost the exact same thing this time around... he not only paid for coffee, he also asked if I wanted a cappuccino... to which I had a quiet little smile to myself and asked him to get me a latte again.

Quite a bit of our conversation was taken up between me telling him about a conversation I had with Rubber Puppy online last night, and various bits and pieces of "gossip" about the sauna and just random randomness... in fact it took a very long time for me to actually get the Rubber Puppy story out, we both kept breaking off the main story to tell substories, before I would bring the conversation back to the main one again.

I'm sure it was also highly interesting or informative or shocking for the people sitting around us, some of whom may or may not have been listening in (I know one woman in particular seemed to be paying attention to what I was saying, but I wasn't saying anything overly controversial at the time.

And he continues to find me highly amusing... I don't even remember what I said now, but I sent him slightly hysterical at one point... which is something of a unique experience... usually if I make somebody crack up like that, I crack up too... which usually means that the joke is fairly funny... maybe it's just that he's not used to my sense of humour or something, so the stuff that wouldn't normally crack people up make him just about fall on the floor laughing, I don't know...

Anyway, we'd been there a while, when suddenly he checked his mobile, jumped up and asked me if I wanted to go for a walk. I didn't really have any idea what was going on, but I said sure, and we ended up wandering into the Markets and into this divey little place with pokies/slot machines...

I have less than no interest in the whole pokie genre, but I sat with him while he did whatever it was he was doing and we chatted some more. I will give him some credit, he only played with a certain (small) amount of money, he made sure he always kept that amount in reserve once he'd won a bit... and he actually seemed to do quite well, tripling his initial money.

But after that everything was closing for the evening, so we wandered aimlessly for a little bit, then I walked him back in the direction of his car and we said goodbye.

We'll have to see what happens next I guess... but no expectations, no conditions... we'll just see.

Can I sing "yani and marc, sitting on a tree" yet? ;)

LOL... you can sing it as much as you like... doesn't make it the least bit true or appropriate thought...

And isn't it "sitting IN a tree"? I imagine sitting ON a tree could be somewhat uncomfortable... :P

LOL. I didn't even realise I typed that. I do that quite often, I'm telling you, and sometimes I even miss words in a sentence. Must be my inner dyslexia surfacing. :P
