The California Boy in question is model Scott Gardner, photographed by Jim Tanner for the deliciously named Coitus Magazine's American Boy edition.
And I don't think it should be any surprise that the first photo of Scott (and his tiger striped butt) was chosen as one of the three cover images for that issue.
