And this is where we get a little crazy. This week's DnD Disney Character Colouring Book is revisiting the idea of Sleeping Beauty, Aurora... the last time I did this, I combined the idea of the princess and Maleficent as the dragon.
This time I just pushed the idea all the way... and instead of doing a blonde woman, I went with a gold dragonborn. And, of course the Draconic Sorcerer nature comes from a black dragon. But again, this might have come from "an ancient dragon facing death bequeathed some of its magical power to you". Because of course this version of Maleficent is actually an ancient black dragon who transforms into human form.
Weirdly, in both versions, Aurora/Aryxon is the only one I actually label as a Noble. Technically she should be a Hermit... but then Rapunzel exists. And I only wanna use a background once across the characters.
On anybody other than a dragonborn, this top absolutely wouldn't work, and I would definitely have put something under it, but the chest scales definitely work as a stand in.
Also, the left handed magic effect is an addiction... basically all of these characters who have a magic effect happening, the left hand is involved. Which just potentially means that all these characters are right handed, I don't fucking know.
Anyway...
It was Not Quite Lasagna Soup this week. Basically it was essentially pasta sauce with penne... Good though, even if I could have done with cooking the veggies a little longer.
The Mini Media Reviews for this week are thus...
Murder is Easy. This is one of those adaptations where they try and shove too many new ideas in and it just muddies up the story in ways that, honestly, make more sense. Making the main character a Nigerian man involved in politics instead of a white man who had been a police officer overseas just changes a bunch of things when you set the story in the 1930's. And the story tries to tip it's hat to those things, but does a terrible job at it. Also some of the acting is... questionable.
Caravaggio's Shadow. This was significantly less gay than I kinda thought it might be. It was, however, very angsty and very Italian. I have seen the much more homoerotic Derek Jarman version at least once, and this version was okay.
Hozuki's Coolheadedness. An interesting one... the titular character is very similar in personality to my favourite dumpster fire DnD character, Demyan. So, I liked that, obviously, and the premise about the Japanese hells is fantastic. I just didn't necessarily vibe with the short 10-15 minute episodes that are really just a skit one on specific idea. The animation is beautiful, the backgrounds call back to Japanese art and are also amazing.
There has also been quite a bit of Assassin's Creed Odyssey... like with most games, I'm enjoying it more, but there are still some general issues with some of the story design. I'm just doing things because those are the things I do in Assassin's Creed games, not because the story has specifically motivated me to do certain things.
Friday was Chiro Day... followed by the ritual wandering around Looking At Things.
Anyway...
Today we got a little too overexcited at the supermarket and bought a few too many things.
Then afterwards we went to the movies... more on that shortly.
