clinic results

syphilis posterAll clean! All clean!

What a difference a week can make too... last week I sat around for ages in a waiting room full of people like a shmuck... this week I went one day later and there wasn't a single soul in the waiting room, I waited for less than two minutes and was out the door within like ten minutes...

Sadly I didn't get to see Dr Dreidel again... instead it was a female subcontinental doctor (and oddly enough some sort of Eastern European nurse), but that was okay too, since I wasn't in there long and she gave me good news.

She also gave me a prescription for a Hep A vaccination... which is kind of a pain, because I have to fill it twice (at about $60 a pop), and then take it either to the clinic or to a doctor to have it administered... so that's just annoying...

I'll be honest, it was the HIV test that I was really freaking out about, but as at three months ago (which is always a bummer, having that three month window) I'm all good! And you would think that if I haven't been checked in about six years, then the three months is pretty much gravy...

I still have to go back in three months to be retested for the syphilis thing, since as Dr Dreidel told me last time, that can take a while to show up and/or is hard to pick up... so that's a slight bummer... but on the upside I know that there haven't been any little undiagnosed time bombs sitting around my body for the last few years...
